During the 66th annual Wainwright Stampede Parade there was an unfortunate accident involving a six-year-old girl. At this time there are not enough facts to give a lot of information other than the young girl fell from the float she was on and received serious injuries. She was transported to hospital in Edmonton by Stars air ambulance.

Our thoughts and prayers are focused on the young girl and her family at this time and we are hoping for a speedy and complete recovery.

When more facts are gathered and we have an opportunity to speak with all involved, we can then determine how to make our parade safer in years to come. The safety of participants at all our events remains a high priority.
